Seeking Neighborhood Watch Volunteers

Posted on: 2004-05-27
The Walled Lake Police Department is looking for volunteers in Roseland to serve as Block Captains for Neighborhood Watch/Community Watch programs. The Police Department is reaching out to the community to combine resources, eyes and ears to stop criminal activity. Block Captains are responsible for organizing their neighbors and working with the Police Department to establish dates for initial meetings, staying in contact with the Police Department for updated information and keeping the neighborhood informed.

Neighborhood/Community Watch is a citizen involvement program where citizens in cooperation with their local law enforcement agency directly participate in the detection and prevention of crime. It is the basic concept of citizens watching their community. Citizens are trained to recognize criminal activities and report them to the police department providing valuable information to the police to aid them in their duties.

If you are willing to serve as a Block Captain, please contact the Walled Lake Police Department at 481-3253.
